OK Amish

Though Amish are more often associated with points east, Oklahoma has its own long-lived Amish population, found in several settlements in the eastern half of the state. In the vicinity of Chouteau you’ll find Oklahoma’s largest and oldest Amish community, numbering about 450 souls. Chouteau is home to a number of Amish farms and businesses, and a small Amish tourist industry.

At Clarita, you’ll find a smaller and younger community of Amish. The Clarita Amish settlement is known for its annual auction benefiting the local Amish school. The event is held each year on the 2nd Saturday of September. Many non-Amish attend in addition to Amish; quilts, baked goods, carriages and other items can be had at the event. How to find Amish furniture in the Sooner State

To buy Amish furniture in Oklahoma, there are a few options. For one, since OK has its own Amish community, it may be possible to purchase furniture direct from an Oklahoma Amish woodworker.

Buying furniture direct from an Amish shop takes more effort and time, but those who follow this route are rewarded with a unique experience. Amish often produce custom home furnishings in addition to a standard line. Visiting an Amish shop lets you meet the owner and craftsman and can be incorporated into a vacation or day-trip.

Alternatively, those who wish to find Amish furniture closer to home can visit a number of Oklahoma Amish furniture showrooms. Amish furniture sellers in OK will often have a full line of furniture available to peruse in comfort and convenience. Finally, Oklahoma residents can order furniture from online Amish furniture sellers, with delivery to Oklahoma addresses.
