Like any mom out there, I want a nutritious meal on the table for my family each night. I also would like to do so without breaking the bank. And if it just so happens to be a crazy easy meal to throw together, then all the better!
Micheal and I both owned homes before we were married and have been trying to sell my house for almost three years. We have had offers over the years, but no one has ever been able to come through until just this month…hopefully we will have a closing date soon! (Imagine spending the first 3 years of your marriage paying two mortgages…fun fun!) So saving money for us has not only been an act of wise money management, it is of the utmost importance. We aren’t the only ones though. Most of America has their own story. So I love it when I can pass along a great recipe that is also inexpensive to make!
This recipe was super cheap! Granted, I had one of my $1.00 packs of chicken (so it was less than $1 per serving for us!), but even with figuring up the price of the entire meal with a normally priced package of chicken, the price is $8.32. That is for all SIX servings of Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Chicken! So that comes out to only $1.39 per serving. Awesomesauce!

Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Chicken
Cut your chicken into chunks.
Pour both bottles of sweet and sour sauce on top of chicken.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
About ten minutes before you are going to serve this yummy Slow Cooker Sweet and Sour Chicken, stir in your vegetables. Put the lid back on and cook on high for about 10 minutes. You want your veggies to be crisp, yet tender.
Then serve it up over rice.

Ingredients
- 3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 20 oz sweet & sour sauce (2-10 oz jars)
- 12 oz pkg of stir fry vegetables
Instructions
Cut chicken into chunks
Pour both bottles of sweet and sour sauce on top of chicken
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours
Before serving, stir in your vegetables
Put the lid back on and cook on high for about 10 minutes
Serve on a bed of rice
