Francis Donahue, at 84, former Boston firefighter Former Boston firefighter Francis Patrick Donohue, 84, of Ashmont street, Dorchester, died this morning at the home of his daughter at 7 Francis avene, Wakefield. Mr. Donahue, born Dec. 21, 1892, at Portland, Maine, was appointed to the Boston Fire Department Oct. 5, 1917.
Assigned to Engine 17, he received several commendations during his years in the department. He was promoted to engineer at the high pressure station May 10, 1950 and retired Nov 22, 1961 after 44 years service.
