Lactation cookies… If you are a breastfeeding mom no doubt you have seen or at least heard of them. Cookies with a claim to help increase breastmilk supply. While many breastfeeding mothers often worry about low milk supply, any possible improvement is a good thing, right? These delicious yet surprisingly healthy lactation cookie recipe just might be the help you needed.
If you have read a post or two around here you probably well know I am no fan of refined sugar. We pretty well stick to honey or in some cases maple syrup. However honey is more locally available so we tend to stick to that. Sugar is connected with many issues including yeast overgrowth (as a breastfeeding mom that’snot something you want).

Healthy Lactation Cookie Recipe
The reason that lactation cookies work is one two or a combination of ingredients. In this case here are 3 powerful ingredients that are known to naturally boost milk supply.
Oats:Oats are well known for the punch they pack when it comes to health and nutritional density. Unlike other many grains oats are gluten-free making them easier to digest for many people.
Brewer’s Yeast:
Solgar – Brewer’s Yeast Powder, 14 Ounce – Supports Heart Health and Digestion
My grandmother used to tell a story that back in the day if a woman was low on milk supply the doctor would tell her to drink a beer a day. Well, that would be appalling, to some, in current times. However, this worked and that was because the magic was in the brewer’s yeast.
If the thought of brewers yeast in your cookies seems a little yuck, don’t worry you can’t taste it at all, I pinky swear!

Lactation cookies to fool them all
These cookies are good enough to fool anyone. In fact, they go quite fast in my house, 4 little people and a husband help make sure of that. Heck, the kids don’t even know they are lactation cookies (they would just give me a sideways glance if I told them anyhow). If it’s extra nutritious for a breastfeeding mom, that’sjust more nutrients for anyone, right?
