Burchfield has been chosen as the student speaker for next Sunday's undergraduate commencement, UMass has announced. Burchfield, the attorney general for the Student Government Association, was selected by a joint committee of faculty members and students. vAs attorney general, he was legal adviser to the student government, and directed the university's judicial adviser program. He also was a special assistant for the Housing Assignment Office. Burchfield, a Northampton resident, served in the Army as a medical corpsman and earned several commendations.
